Desyrel is approved by the FDA to treat Major Depression Disorder (MDD) in adults.

Depression can be caused by an imbalance of brain chemicals called neurotransmitters. Various contributing factors often have an influence. It can be triggered by life events or certain health conditions. Sometimes it may surface without a cause.

What are the signs of depression?

While symptoms can vary from person to person the key markers of depression include;

• Feelings of sadness, anxiety or emptiness
• Loss of interest in activities that were enjoyable
• Changes in appetite and weight
• Alterations in sleep patterns like insomnia or oversleeping
• Slowed physical movements or speech as well as difficulty with thinking
• Restlessness
• Increased irritability and agitation
• Reduced energy levels leading to consistent fatigue or sluggishness
• Ongoing feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt
• Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
• Recurrent thoughts about death or suicide including suicide attempts (Please seek immediate help if needed)

If you experience five or more of these symptoms for two weeks consecutively you may receive a diagnosis of depression.
